The study program of Oceanography, Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB) in coordination with Geospatial Information Agency, Indonesia (Badan Informasi Geospasial), Universitas Hasanudin, Research center for Deep Sea-The Indonesian Institute of Sciences (Lembaga Ilmu Pengetahuan Indonesia), and Pusat Unggulan Iptek Konservasi Sumberdaya Tuna has successfully gathered scientists, lecturers, and policymakers in the International Conference on MSAT on August 7-8, 2019.
The conference consists of a plenary session and sub-specific topics such as (i) Ocean-atmosphere dynamics, (ii) Marine resources, conservation and ICZM, (iii) Tuna resources conservation and management, (iii) Marine hazard and coastal degradation, (iv) Ocean engineering and technology, and (v) Marine geodesy and satellite oceanography. Furthermore, Mutual coordination between ocean-related sectors is stimulated through the partnership session to produce ocean solution through collaborative cooperation.
At the end of the conference, a compilation of selected papers from the participants are processed to be published in IOP Conference Series: Earth and Environmental Science as an important outcome of the meeting. Ultimately, gathering experts and scientists as well as producing academic proceeding in the conference is aiming to deepen the understanding and producing transformative thinking of advance science and technology for Indonesia maritime-sector development.
